projects completed...

I am finding that I'm really in the mood to complete projects.  YAY...just rollin' with it.

Poochie Parka is now complete and I love it!

And I just started (and completed-in one evening!) this fantastic tote bag for my daughter-in-law.  She is due very soon with our first grandchild.  Her favorite colors are black/white/red so I hope she'll like this for toting around baby things.

The ABC blocks fabric is from a London artist, Helen Rawlinson.  I immediately fell in love with it.  The fabric was a dream to work with, nice weight yet soft.

Back to work now.  :)
 

poochie parka...

...no, not 'hoochie mama', 'poochie parka'!

I have a Yorkie named Louie.
Louie is 16.
I'm 40.
I think this dog will outlive me.

He's blind, he's deaf, he's old
and he gets cold.

So, I'm in the midst making a little coat for him.

attention diverted

Lately, my attention has been diverted in the evenings to crocheting.

A few months ago I signed up at

Ravelry, an awesome site for knitters/crocheters.  I have been so inspired by some the amazing pieces/artists on the site. 

Like this scarf by Moonstitches.  I love her designs.  I found directions to make a similar scarf here by Michelle Mooney.  I am so grateful I found these directions!  I have admired (like so many others) Moonstitches Catherine Wheel scarf for so long. 

And now I'm making my own!  WAHOO!

I'm using an odd pair of yarns.  I'm using Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn and one from Debbie Mumm's line.  I like the way it's coming along.   

I decided to raid my stash to make this scarf.  I'm trying to use what I have, instead of rushing out to by new yarn.  Even tho i've only been at the knitting/crocheting gig for about a year now...I've amassed some yarns.  It is addictive.  Just like collecting material.  God knows I have a ton of material that 'someday' I'm going to make just the perfect things with.
